The Hardware Protection Plan costs $5.00 per month.
The SkyWave Internet Hardware Protection Plan covers all repair or replacement of our equipment including the antenna, cable, and/or POE device if it ever becomes damaged, no matter how the damage occurred. Common causes of damage include water in the cable, damage to the cable due to wild for domestic animal abuse, damage to the antenna due to insect infestation, electrical surge and lightning strike, and human error.
If you choose not to sign up for the Hardware Protection Plan then you as a customer will be charged for repair or replacement should damage occur to any SkyWave Internet equipment. The minimum charge for repairs or replacements are $50.00/hour, if the antenna needs to be replaced the price starts at $75.00.
The only exception for customers who do not sign up for the Hardware Protection Plan is for repair or replacement only if the antenna, cable, and/or POE device fails due to mechanical failure of no known cause or SkyWave Internet caused the damage, an example of that would be the technician puncturing the wire during the installation process and wire seeps into the wire that way.
Service Calls are not covered by the Hardware Protection Plan.
All Purchased Hardware
Hardware purchased directly from SkyWave Internet, such as wireless routers, are not covered by the Hardware Protection Plan. These devices have a 90 day warranty on hardware failure covered by SkyWave Internet. Almost all wireless routers come with a 1 or 2 year warranty covered by the manufacturer. If your device fails after the 90 day period SkyWave Internet will allow you use a wireless router free of charge until you receive your new device that you are obtaining from your manufacture warranty. We will allow you to use our device for up to 30 days, after that if we have not received our device back you will be charged full price for it.
